Communications

Neighborhood Council
Board of
Directors 2014 Term
Hard Worker –
Clear Thinker – Peacemaker
I love Venice, and I know how
lucky we are to live in our paradise by the sea.
On the Land Use and Planning Committee
from 2006-2010, I was fortunate to work with longtime activists and preeminent
LUPC Chair Challis Macpherson, who taught us to listen well and to speak
up.
Under Challis, LUPC galvanized its reputation as "Jewel
of the VNC," tackling tough issues with respect for open dialog,
transparency and community input.
During this time, I also moderated
the 2008 fences and hedges controversy and, in 2010, worked with Robin Rudisill on the Board's Food Truck Task Force, bringing
recommendations for new regulations to the City.
Serving as VNC Board Community
Officer from 2010 to 2012, I continued my ongoing service on the Outreach
Committee and maintained the web site, improved the mail system and helped to
revive the Communications Committee, on which I serve today.
With your vote, I promise to
improve the web site's display and operation, restore transparency and best
practices to LUPC and, most of all, work with you to address our common
challenges for keeping Venice diverse, safe and fun for everyone!
